This subject is a dear friend that I have known for years. It’s a tree that grows along the trail we frequent. lt grows on the side of a hill and the soil has washed away from its roots leaving this beautiful snarl of rocks and roots all tangled up and supporting each other. Every time we have a heavy rain causing mudslides and flooding, I go to the trail expecting to see my tree laying across the trail but no, she still stands! Supported by little but spirit and determination. The original is oil on canvas, 26” x 40”. Giclée prints are available.
